Somewhere in the

Universe

there’s a lonely star slowly exploding out of existence and another being born in a fantastic dance of gas and light. I find that I am missing out on all of this and soon Google produces an answer… The greatest at home planetarium projector gadget ever- the Uncle Milton Homestar System. One look at this new in-home star theater tells you that this is a serious upgrade from those little sticky glow in the dark stars that you put up in 5th grade. In fact, this could completely replace that setup!

Got a buddy always winning at Paintball? Who doesn’t! That’s why this innovation rocks so hard. The Paintball Panzar!! Watch that smirk leave the face of every person on the field as you roll out from behind the big loopy thing in this. The game of paintball traditionally required skill, stamina and good strategy. Now you can simply rush your opponents and unload like mad, careful to duck into the tank for complete protection. paintball-300x257-150x150 How to beat anyone at paintball

The traditional auto jack is obsolete! Take a look at these pictures and tell me that it’s worth ever going back top the ‘other’ method of jacking your vehicle up. Imagine being able to use your exhaust to inflate a device that safely and easily jacks up your multi-ton vehicle. Now stop imagining, it’s here! For only $130, it’s one of the best purchases you can make to keep you to auto nirvana (a place where you have everything you could possibly need for your car when you need it). Get Jacked on your Exhaust!

Can’t Decide? Build Your Own Orchid!

This might be one of those perfect low-tech gifts that you get for the person who is very difficult to shop for. The beauty of something like this is that it appeals to a wide range of sensibilities: the do it yourself-er will say “Hey! I grew this myself!”, the nature/wilderness/science lover can parry “Well, the name of this particular flower is based on the latin root…”, the hopeless romantic will retort “Did you know Orchids only bloom if there is True Love in the home?”. It also qualifies as a fancy home decoration gift which “looks very Zen!”, and a forward looking green enthusiast will say “Hey! This plant is helping to control the Co2 emissions from my vehicle!” It is also a wonderful “I didn’t know what to get you so I got you something alive so you couldn’t hate it as much” gift. buld-your-own-orchid-200-150x150 Cant Decide? Imagine the device that unites everything that you carry along: a mobile phone, a player, your credit and discount cards, your apartment and your car keys. Several Patents now being processed promise such utopian functionality in a device the size of a credit card. These are early concept photos of the multi-function phone, music player, all your credit/debit cars and auto and home keys.

The device in size of a credit card 54 x 85.6 mm will replace all those separate items. Imagine indeed! It’s just around the corner!!

Watch TV Carbon Free! The Solar Powered LCD Television

At the G8 Summit, Sharp introduced a television technology that makes a lot of sense to me: A Television that provides it’s own power! It’s done through a thin solar panel technology and begs only one question of me. Must you watch it outside?

New phone breaks new ground by being old

Posted on August 11, 2008
Filed Under Bluetooth, Phones | Leave a Comment

Every once in a while a new technology borrows a form or function of an old technology and re-invents itself in the process. A company called Hulger Boutique Phones is doing just that by introducing a VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) phone that looks like the early phone handset style. Thinking about this a little more, it becomes obvious that it makes perfect sense. While phones have gotten smaller and more svelte over the years, they certainly are not more comfortable to use, even with those silly headsets. hulger-pc-phone-red-1-150x150 New phone breaks new ground by being old

The day when your cell phone turns into your PC

Posted on August 5, 2008

Designer James Piatt has introduced these new prototypes for a future concept phone called the “Plica” in answer to the cell phones industry arriving at a crossroads between small phones and big screens. This phone could double as a sub-notebook computer and would utilize both the Apple iPhone implementation of an all touch screen and the run of the mill clam shell design so popular in phones today. plica-concept-phone-150x150 The day when your cell phone turns into your PC
