The Bench That Keeps Your Bum Dry

Hi, welcome to the future! You're new here, so you may want to subscribe to the IdeaNip Future Tech RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

The rolling bench will help you keep dry in rain or snow. Just twist the handles on the side and presto a brand new bench. I’m no genius but lets say that you roll it while your in the pooring rain then won’t both sides end up getting wet? Its a cool concept but not a great idea.

    @Michael

If you think this is good, you should stop by Digg.com and read some of the trash-talkin comment threads there. I swear, the IQ in that place is in the negatives…..

It would be a good idea at a gym in the change room.give a cleaner dryer side to sit on.

The problem is that the total area that could be dry vs wet after a rain is pretty poor. Water drips and splashes.

    Why not a simple roof?

I am always surprised when someone thinks that the way they see it is the only way it could work. Why would anyone think it was designed for use when it was raining, not after when someone may want to sit on the dry side. Maybe if you thought about it you would not have wrote the following. It is a great Idea but the concept may need to wored on so average people can understand it………

When its wet (after its stopped raining) you can roll it to the side where the bum pooped all over it. At least you can roll it back to the wet side.

Okay, imagine there is a squeegee on the bottom that gives you a fresh, dry surface every cycle.
If you have to wait for a bus in the rain at least your butt can be dry.

This is a brilliant idea, and why not use it in the rain, it’s only water, it does dissipate!!!!
If you don’t like rain then I can’t see why you would be sitting in it anyway but would you really want benches covered by umbrella’s or roofs, like mini pub garden benches and bus shelters, get a life go get wet, but remember drips dont get wet they only get bigger!

    Neither will a VCR.

  13. MPB on May 12th, 2008 2:27 am

ok this is true but the point is saying that it wont work in the rain

  14. nixon on May 12th, 2008 2:23 am

I concur. If you are in the rain, sitting on a bench… your ass being wet should probably be the least of your concerns.

You don’t roll it while it’s raining. It says after a rainy day. Who sits on a bench while it’s raining.
